Work in Progress: Scarlet Collar

I’ve finally finished the very long Potawatomi chain project that I was working on, and it turned out great! I often forget just how time consuming multi-strand projects can be when each strand is woven. To celebrate, I’ve started a quick double-chevron collar with some black SuperDuos and white Rizos. After that, who knows? I'll have to take a really good look through my stash for some inspiration.

Multistrand Potawatomi Chain with Chevrons

Taking photos of my work today made me realize that my trusty bead tray is starting to look a bit worse for wear. It’s suffered quite a few cracks and chips over the years, mostly due to trying to lift it one-handed while it’s covered in beads. Hopefully it has a few more good years in it before I have to trade it in for something new.

  1. The chain is beautiful, I like the clasp too!

I have one of those cheap flock beading trays under home made ensemble of foam, felt and a layer of lint free rolled and sewn at the edges. This way my beads stay on and I can pop the bits I need to hand inside the tray. It's also handy for poking needles in so I don't later tread on them. I wish my tray was as organised as yours though. Right now on my tray is a rope made from your netting tutorial, I am still trying to work out some tassels and a finish. Hopefully I will finish over the weekend if I get a few hours :)

    1. Staying organized is definitely a challenge! The only reason my bead tray looks this good is that I let all my bead packs pile up on my desk. The advantage to that is that I have to bring all of my beads out at once to clean up, and some great combinations have been discovered that way!
